Bluesky – Creating exceptional places for people to live

November 15, 2017

Bluesky’s vision is to ensure that through our excellence in integrated design, we create exceptional places for people to work, learn, play and live.

Places to live are a big part of our creative portfolio. Commentary about demand for housing is never far from the headlines, whether its regeneration of areas and the creation of new communities, housing shortages, affordable housing or inspiring, innovative solutions for modern living.

Martin Birkett joined the Bluesky team earlier this year as Residential Lead and brings with him a wealth of experience in this sector. Martin previously worked as a Director for Cruickshank & Seward Limited as well as for DTR:UK and Leach Rhodes Walker Architects, working on a diverse range of mixed-use, residential, student accommodation, commercial and leisure projects.

Martin coming into the Bluesky family has been like getting the ‘A-Team’ back together again……’we love it when a plan comes together’! Martin previously worked with Deputy Managing Director Alison Quinn and Lead Architectural Technologist Melanie Sheridan at Cruickshanks. Bluesky are now helping to deliver C1000+ new homes for their developer clients.

Martin Birkett said:

It’s an exciting time for architects working in the residential sector. Design innovations to maximise the number of units which can be developed in regeneration areas or urban sites, value for money challenges and unique ways of using off-site construction techniques make our role challenging. Finding solutions that work practically and commercially for our client yet deliver inspiring design is what we do best.

The Bluesky team have extensive experience of using off-site construction in the education and aviation sector as well as traditional build approaches, and bring this expertise to support the design challenges for our residential clients.’
